Dev Uthani Ekadashi 2024: The second Ekadashi during the bright half of the Kartik month is called Devuthani Ekadashi. In this year Dev Uthani Ekadashi will be observed on 12th November. This is very important Ekadashi. It is believed that on this day Lord Vishnu wakes up after sleeping for 4 months. During these 4 months, all types of auspicious works are prohibited because of Lord Vishnu’s sleep or Dev Shayan.  All auspicious works are completed after lord Vishnu wakes up again. Dev Uthani Ekadashi 2024: Date and Time

Ekadashi of Kartik month will be from 11th November 2024 at 6:46 Pm to 12th November 2024 at 4:4 Pm. In this situation, because the rising date is on 12th November, the fast of Devuthani Ekadashi will be kept on this day. The Parana will take place on November 13, 2024, from 6:42 AM to 8:51 AM.

On Dev Uthani Ekadashi, you should get up early in the morning and have a bath. After this, make a pavilion of sugarcane and make a square in the middle. It is important to follow many rules on Dev Uthani Ekadashi. On this day, you should keep fast. If the fasting person is sick, old, child, or busy, then he can fast for only 1 day. Rice and salt should be avoided on this day. This is the perfect time to honor Lord Vishnu. Don’t eat tamasic food at all on this day.

Dev Uthani Ekadashi 2024: Vrat Katha

According to religious texts, in a kingdom, on this day, no one eats animals. One day Lord Vishnu thought of testing the king and sat on the roadside in the form of a beautiful woman. When King met her, he asked the reason for sitting there. The woman told him that she was helpless but the king was fascinated by her beauty and said you come with me.

The woman put a condition in front of the king that she would accept the proposal only when she was given the rights of the whole kingdom and whatever she cooked, the king had to eat it. The king accepted the condition, and on the other day, she ordered to sell food in markets like other days. She forced the king to eat non-vegetarian food. The king said that today is my fast and I eat only fruits. She reminded the condition of the king and said that if he didn’t eat this non-vegetarian food, then I would cut off the head of the elder prince.

This king told his situation to the elder queen and she asked the king to follow the religion and agreed to cut off the head of her son. The king agreed to give the prince’s head when he didn’t listen to the beautiful woman. Shri Hari in the avatar of Sundari was very happy to see the king’s devotion towards religion and he came in his real form and appeared before the king.

Vishnu told the king that he passed his test, and asked him for a boon. The king thanked the lord for his life and he pleased to save him. Lord Vishnu accepted the king’s prayer and after death, he went to Bankutha Lok.
