    According to Hindu Scriptures, Amavasya Tithi has special significance on Diwali. It is believed that on this day, lord ram made his way back to Ayodhya following his victory over the evil king Ravan. Since there was no light at that time and it was Amavasya also people lit lakhs of diyas to welcome Lord Ram when he came back to Ayodhya and celebrated this festival full of joy and happiness.

    Amavasya tithi begins: on 31st October 2024 at 03:52 Pm

    Amavasya tithi ends: 1st November 2024 at 06:16 Pm

    Pradosh kaal: 5:12 PM to 7:43 PM

    Laxmi puja tithi: 5:12 Pm to 6:16 Pm

    Vrishabha muhurat: 6:00 Pm to 7:59 Pm


    When to celebrate Diwali 2024?

In 2024, Diwali should be celebrated on 31st October as Amavasya night falls on that day only and Amavasya tithi ends on 1st November 2024 at 06:16 Pm so there will be no Amavasya on that night.
