The creator of the universe is Lord Brahma. Hindus relate him with the creation of all living beings. He is the superior of 3 lords. Do you want to know why Brahma is not worshipped? Let’s learn about the reason and other fascinating facts.

Why Lord Brahma is not worshipped?

Lord Brahma is the creator and supreme god among the Vishnu and Shiva. He is mentioned in Hindu Vedas. It is mentioned in Puranas that he has 4 heads, hands, and golden hair. Manasputra is his children. He created them from his mind. He sits on the lotus with his Vahan, Swan.

According to Hindu mythology, Brahma was born from the navel of Lord Vishnu. Some say that he was born from a golden egg. It had 2 other of them, Vishnu and Shiva. Brahma was an important god until the 7th century. After that, he lost his importance. Lord Shiva and Vishnu replaced him. Let’s learn why Brahma is not worshipped.

    Vishnu and Brahma fight

According to Shiva Purana, Prajapati Daksh washed lord Brahma’s feet. Lord Vishnu entered the hour of Prajapati Daksh and he went to welcome him. Lord Brahma, got angry after seeing this and Lord Vishnu looked at the angry face of lord Brahma.

Daksh asked his father about it, Brahma went to Vishnu and said he was the most powerful among the three lords. It annoyed the Vishnu and he told Brahma that you were born from his navel. Brahma didn’t listen to this and continued to call himself most powerful. In frustration, lord Vishnu called Shiva, and he came there on his calling.

    Brahma, Vishnu, Mahesh's story

Brahma and Vishnu asked Shiva who was the strongest among them. Shiva listening to them made a lingam of fire. It went upwards in the sky and downwards into the sea. He said to them to find that, Brahma took the form of a swan to find and Vishnu took the form of a boar and started seeing it. Vishnu understood that Shiva wanted to explain something to them.

Brahma knows the plan and plans a trick to win. He told Ketaki to tell Shiva that he reached the upper end of the lingam. Ketaki told this to lord shiva. Bu shiva knows that it was a lie of Brahma. So Shiva cursed him that no one worshiped him and also cursed Ketaki that this flower is not used in any puja. This is why Brahma didn’t worship.

Why is Ashok Sundari not worshipped?

Ashok Sundari is the daughter of lord shiva and Maa Parvati. She was born from the tress of Kalpavriksha, the tree desires. She is a devi who is blessed with beauty and luxury.

She was cursed, let’s understand why. Lord Shiva beheaded Ganesha, as Shiva was unaware that Ganesha was his son, who Parvati produced. He orders Ganesha to let him in where Parvati is bathing, but the little boy doesn’t allow it as his mother tells him not to allow anyone inside. He said the same things to lord shiva, but not listening to it, Shiva angrily beheaded him.

Why did Mata Parvati destroy Ashok Sundari?

Mata Parvati came out to see Ganesha, she saw that Ashok Sundari was hiding beside a salt sack. Parvati cursed her that would be part of salt as her act of cowardice. So, she turned into a piece of salt. And now the food we eat is tasteless without salt. Why Brahma is not worshipped is the same in this story.

After they found an elephant’s head for Ganesha, lord shiva and Maa Parvati brought life into their children’s bodies and Ashok Sundari.  They came to life, as Sundari looked beautiful in her divine form. She became a form of happiness and joy for all. The Puranas don’t mention many things about her, but people in western India, Gujarat, and South India worship her.
