Shankhs that open towards the right hand are known as Dakshinavarti shanks. This form of shankh is thought to symbolise wealth and prosperity. These shakhas can only be found in the deep seas and are extremely rare. When placed in a sacred area or a centre of devotion, Dakshinavartishankh is regarded exceedingly auspicious. This shankha is thought to bring prosperity and good luck. It is also said to expel all negative energies.
