    1. Cleansing or hydrating the Shiva linga: The priests of temples start the ceremony by cleaning the Shiv linga. They perform hydration pooja by bathing the shiv linga using ingredients like milk, curd, honey, turmeric powder, sandalwood paste, coconut water, sugarcane juice, and Vibhuti.
