    Gangaur Vrat Katha

According to mythology, Lord Shiva, Goddess Parvati, and Narad ji went for a tour and reached the village while walking. This day was a Chaitra Shukla Tritiya, after the villagers found out about this, the poor women reached there with Haldi and rice on plates to welcome them and started worshipping.

Mata Parvati understood their worship and sprinkled Suhaag Ras on them. After this rich woman came for puja with many types of dishes decorated in gold and silver plates. Then lord Vishnu asked Mata that all the Suhaag Ras was given to the poor women then what they will get now.

On this Mata said, those women have been given juice made from superficial things. Their marital bliss will be with dhoti but I will give these rich women the marital bliss of blood by cutting my finger. By doing this, the rich will become as lucky as me. After these women finished worshipping Mata Parvati, she cut her finger and sprinkled the blood on them.

Those who got the blood on will get the same marital bliss. She said that you need to donate all clothes and jewelry and be free from all illusions and attachments. Give your money, mind, and body to your husband as doing this will bring you good luck.

After taking permission from Lord Shiva, the goddess went to take a bath in the river. After bath, she made an idol for Lord Shiva from sand and worshipped it. She also offers food. After this, she took 2 grains of prasad and applied tilak on her forehead. During worship, lord Shiva appeared in the form of earthen lings and then he gave a boon to Parvati.

He said that any woman who worships me according to ritual and keeps fast, then her husband lives a long and healthy life. The women doing this will get salvation. After giving this boon to the goddess, lord shiva disappeared. After that Shiva and Parvati are worshipped on the 3rd day of Shukla Paksha on Chaitra month.
