Like other kalashtami, it is celebrated on every Ashtami tithi of Krishna Paksha. People keep fast and worship Lord Bhairav to take his blessings. People do pooja and visit temples to remove the obstacles from their lives.

Kalashtami vrat Katha
Kal Bhairav is an avatar of lord shiva. One day lord brahma and lord Vishnu argued about who was the greatest among all people. At that moment, a fire linga appeared in front of them. Both gods were trying to see the end of linga, and suddenly lord Brahma said that he saw it and lord Vishnu accepted his defeat. At that time, lord shiva appeared and asked lord Brahma not to lie.
Lord Brahma got upset but he did not realize what he had done. After that, he insulted lord shiva, and this upset lord shiva, who couldn’t hesitate to create Kaal Bhairav to punish Lord Brahma. Kaal Bhairav cut the 5th head of lord Brahma, which made him realize his mistake.
Lord Brahma then asked for forgiveness and Bholanath forgave him and left. After that lord Brahma also asked for forgiveness from lord Vishnu, and both of them solved their fight. This situation helped them to gain knowledge.

The Kaal Bhairav is also known as the god of time and on this day people manifest growth and power in their lives and put aside their egos and pride, making the journey of Moksha easy.

Kalashtami ritual
1. Get up early morning and bathe in the morning before the dawn of the day.
2. Sweep and clean the puja room, and make the diya and the incense stick.
3. Worship lord Bhairav and take his blessings and forgiveness for past mistakes.
4. Observe fast and chant Kalashtami vrat Katha.
5. Chant Kaal Bhairav and Lord Shiva’s Mantras.
6. Offer mustard oil and sesame seeds to Kaal Bhairav.
7. Prasad should be distributed to the people after puja
Kalashtami 2025 remedies
1. Recite Kaal Bhairav and Lord Shiva Mantra.
2. Offer red flowers, ghee diya, honey, and coconut to God Bhairav.
3. Offer sesame seeds as it removes mental problems.
