    Tulsi das original name is Rambola Dubey, and he was born on 11th August 1511 in Soron, Uttar Pradesh. He was Sarayuparina Brahmin by birth, he is Avtar of Valmiki and the original author of Ramayana in Sanskrit. His mother was Hulsi and his father was Atmaram Dubey.

    His date of birth falls on Saptami, the 7th day of Shukla Paksha. It is the bright half of the lunar Hindu calendar in Shravan (August), which is celebrated as Tulsi das Jayanti.
